Ring Lab
Ring Lab is BLACKBOX NOLA's structured actor training program. All work happens inside the 16-foot wrestling ring using a card-based exercise system grounded in Stanislavski principles.
The Card System
Three decks drive the training:
Numbers
Define structural constraints for scenes.
Animals
Provide a physical identity lens.
Situations
Create internal pressure the actor carries into the work.
How It Works
Each session draws cards from the decks. The combination creates a unique set of constraints. Every prompt is playable. No experience required. Commitment is required.
